The notion first struck Pete Shipps years ago, after designing a Luxury Hospitality project in Highlands, North Carolina. An accomplished Builder and Real Estate Developer in his own right, and the Architectural Designer of the iconic Falls Cottages by Old Edwards Hospitality Group, Pete set out to overcome on-site building challenges. 

His goal was focused. Create the Old Edwards signature standard of high quality design, detail, and construction in a controlled environment, and deliver a completed build to the site. What evolved next stands to change the trajectory of multiple industries. 

Pete soon discovered that the apparatus he needed to achieve his goal didn't exist. He further found that the Department of Transportation's height limitations, weight restrictions, and other constraints effectively controlled the narrative for off-site design, construction and transportation, and even adversely affected real estate development. 

Never satisfied with the status-quo, Pete endeavored to create the very system he envisioned and needed. He applied his expertise in Design and Construction, engaged a team of top engineers and other industry professionals, and reached his goal through sheer determination and doggedness. The result: Uni-Frame, a universal Crossover Building System™ that empowers design, reduces limitations, redefines the narratives, and creates new possibilities. 

Then COVID arrived in full force and the world was forced to pause. Pete's own world came to a crashing halt as he battled critical COVID illness, extended hospitalization, and a long, complex recovery. His miraculous survival and recovery changed his family's life trajectory and life purpose. 

These days the biggest motivator igniting Pete's mission to build beyond barriers is a life calling to design for a greater good. That realization signaled that it was time for his family's next chapter, and for the patented innovation's as well. With the innovation now under new ownership of transportation pioneers, Daryl Snader and Heath Sartini, Co-Founders of Uni-Frame, LLC, this next chapter of life has officially begun. For Pete and his family, it is simply this: Design what matters most.
